          I was born in London, England, and in 2018 made the decision to volunteer as an English language teacher in the Czech Republic through the European Solidarity Corp, spending a year as a volunteer at Dobrá Škola before teaching full time. Life provided a new opportunity 4 years ago, teaching English, Music and IT at a Montessori school in Brno, but life has now brought me back to the beauty of Zlín. As well as teaching in Montessori schools over the last 8 years, I’ve also had experience with teaching English in language schools and high schools across both cities, as well as privately to young children and adults alike. To have the opportunity to work in such an environment, where children are given more freedom than traditional schooling methods and develop not only their language abilities but what they enjoy and who they are as a person at a pace that is comfortable to them is one of the biggest draws for me to work in a Montessori environment.

          
          When I’m not working, the biggest joys for me lie in the slowness of everyday life. Whether it’s reading literature, meditation, journaling or sharing a good conversation with both friends and strangers, life isn’t something that’s meant to be rushed. I also enjoy bouldering, board games and chess, and have some experience with teaching chess to children and young adults.
